Views of Objects and Rules

چکیده
Object-oriented database systems provide expressive power and the potential for reuse, extensibility and modifiability. Relational and deductive database systems provide a simple logical semantics and the ability to represent complex derived information. Many proposals have been made for database systems that offer both sets of features, and some combined systems have been implemented. In this paper, I shall review recent work on one particular approach to the problem of designing deductive object-oriented database systems that offer both sets of features.

Extending the Qualitative Trajectory Calculus Based on the Concept of Accessibility of Moving Objects in the Paths
Qualitative spatial representation and reasoning are among the important capabilities in intelligent geospatial information system development. Although a large contribution to the study of moving objects has been attributed to the quantitative use and analysis of data, such calculations are ineffective when there is little inaccurate data on position and geometry or when explicitly explaining ...

ion rules and classification mechanisms so that all of views are consistent. The cartography of dynamic objects also requires to abstract the rules that constrain how objects change and relate to each other over time. Enterprise cartography deals with the dynamic design and production of architectural views that depict the components of an organisation and their dependencies. It shares its cons...
متن کاملA View-Centred Approach Unifying Databases and Knowledge Bases
The term Knowledge Bases initially designated the set of rules in a rule-based expert system, as opposed to the inference engine. Its meaning has since been extended to any form of knowledge representation with a high degree of declarativity and making use of logical inference. Instance classification has been and remains one important function of knowledge bases. It consists in identifying the...
متن کاملDeclarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...
متن کاملA version numbering scheme for informational objects used in VM live migration
Various numbering schemes are used to track different versions and revisions of files, software packages, and documents. One major challenge in this regard is the lack of an all-purpose, adaptive, comprehensive and efficient standard. To resolve the challenge, this article presents Quadruple Adaptive Version Numbering Scheme. In the proposed scheme, the version identifier consists of four integ...

National building regulations in most countries are part of the law and an important professional issue for many construction professionals, including engineers and architects. In addition to construction plans with titles such as approved plans that are available with the seal and signature of the designer and approved by the municipality and the Construction Engineering Organization, other pl...
